Protection of Human Subjects Committee

 

All human subjects research, regardless of the source of funding is subject to Federal regulation.  Texas Tech University's Institutional Review Board is responsible for making sure that those regulations are followed.  These web pages will provide TTU's policies and procedures, forms, links to the Federal regulation, and other useful links for those wanting to conduct research with human subjects.

Policies and Procedures:  This is the place to start.  We have annotated the document for easy use of the many areas involved.

TTU IRB Forms

Cover Sheet:  This must be included with all Human Subjects Protocol Proposals.  This document has form fields in place.  You can type, then print.   

However, the only way you can save is if you have the full version of Adobe.

Proposal Format:  Follow these guidelines in writing your proposed Human Subjects protocol.

Claim for Exemption:  This form must accompany protocols needed to be reviewed as exempt.

Expedited Review Form:  This form must accompany protocols that meet expedited review categories.

Consent Form Information:  The following should be helpful in creating a consent form:

Human Subjects Training

NIH Human Subjects Training: This training is required of ALL KEY PERSONNEL on NIH grants utilizing human subjects.  It is recommended for anyone whose research involves human subjects.
